This is how Lintfabriek looks like now after 5 years closing....
Really sad to see.
"U was een geweldig publiek" op de deur.

yup...

but thinking about it - it seems pretty much indredible that it could work for THAT long... after all, there'd been every kind of hardcore-punk-garage-rock show every few days in a 'club' that was nothing else but a row house with people living their lives in the neighbouring houses.

every similar place around here or in any other European country would have been SHUT DOWN within minutes of the first show. be thankful for what you had!

You've got a point there Dan but if you know the reasons why they had to close that's really ridiculous...
The last months before it got closed there were even cops and firemen inside during concerts because suddenly after 25years the place was not safe anymore. Bollocks imo!

Anyway indeed we may be happy with the glorious moments we had there. Amen!

Yeah Mies those pics brings back the good times huh!

I see, but that's something that just went out of control over the last 20 years... over here in Luxembourg, we had a place at an ancient abattoir where we could do DIY shows... room was just under the roof and was nothing but wood and cardboard... one cigarette and it would've been armageddon. the staircase was nothing but a metal ladder... I really wonder how we brought up the amps and NOT broke several bones. you'd tell that to somebody today and they'd shut down the place... right away.

everything's getting 'normed'... yeah, bollocks, but it wasn't only in Kontich...
