Here's the progress report on the Bones...
Here's what we started with.
Here's the deck with the graphic at about 90%.
Here's the trucks with new bushings and Mini Cubes that'll go back on it.
Here's the Hobies, but they'll either get traded or go to the Bay.
The risers couldn't be saved. They'll have to be replaced. I think it's coming along pretty well. It should be finished in a week or 2. |

This is the deck after stripping:
I used Goof Off to get the paint soft, then VERY CAREFULLY scraped it off using a dull pocket knife. I had to use a really soft touch once I got to the white...it's the base coat and the black is over top. You can see a good bit of the black came off, but there was enough left to tell what's what.
*edit* Once I had the graphic cleaned, I lost my patience and used a high powered stripper on the field....not the best move. Lesson learned.

It'll have to be painted. Although it was originally stained, there's no way to restain it. It'll be painted as close to the original color as I can get.
I have another Skull and Bones we're using as a guide for the graphic and color. We were pretty lucky on that!

did you know it was a Skull and Sword when you bought it? (or was it a shot in the dark purchase?) |

Truth be told, I was hoping for a Vato Rat. |

dude, very nice! you've done some excellent work there; lots of TLC... main graphic looks great! must've been a royal pain in the ass though huh? all that scraping away... top looking good too? dragon was all there wasn't it?
how do you plan on matching that background paint color?
not bad for like what, 50 bucks if i remember?
when that Frankenstein deck is finished its transformation I'd love to see it again.
thanks for the update!
