Funny... I interviewed a 52 year-old skater the other day. Dude had a bmx come down on him while he was in a bowl -broke two of his ribs. After healing, he came back to the park and a bmxican rolled in on him again -despite he and the cats he was skating with calling out heads up to the bikes.
Coming head to head with the bike he knew he'd lose in a colision, so he jumped trying to clear the oncoming phuctard... ended up drop kicking the bmxican and winding him bad.
A skatepark is no place for goofs on bikes. Perhaps they should have their own park... but I've never (and after weeks of research) ever heard of a bmx group raising funds or advocating with municipalities to have parks built -bmx, skaterboard or otherwise.
The damage those dicks have done to our park here is outrageous.
Funniest part was that this 52 year old skater is a United Church Minister. Laughed my ass off when he told me. |

hahahahhahaha-
cmon men lets get real here for a minute.
you are ALL smart peeps.
It doesnt make a shit whether they have aluminum and two wheels or wood and four.
Those who are dicks, will always be dicks.
They act that way at the park, at home, and just in general.
As sad as it was- there were a couple older skaters there who thought they were great trying to do kickflip variations down damned handrails and snaking little boys and little girls on skateboards every round.
Not the gear gentlemen and ladies- the attitude.

You hear the word skatepark all the time:
"let's go to the skatepark"
"the city is building a skatepark"
"skatepark hours are..."
I've never myself heard of a BIKEpark or anyone refer to one. I've seen SKATEpark signs that state the rules and in really small print it says bikes are welcome on these days at these hours.
Its a skatepark....get your own park, go ride in the dirt. You've got bikes, go ride the BIKE path down by the lake. Go to all the places skateboards aren't welcome(which it pretty much everywhere). They'll never ban bikes....everyone owns them. You've got it made take advantage of it.

slob, really good point about the fund raising. im not sure ive ever known fruitbooters to raise money either. i guess skateboarders really are the elite core of individuals in the "extreme" sports world. |

The Medford skatepark was vandalized by BMXERS last year. When I spoke to someone out there about it he pretty much said that if they had helped to raise the funds to build the park he could have understood why they were mad about not being able to get in. He basically said they were just lazy fucks that wanted to reap the rewards without the work.
Personally I have never understood bikes in parks. Freestyle bike is off the streets. Bikes in parks just looks silly. Hell it takes more skills to be a fruitbooter than a BMXer in a park.
